About service:
Cancer screening is crucial because it allows for early detection, leading to more effective treatment options and improved survival rates, often before symptoms even appear. Our office offers cancer screenings for the following cancers: Breast, Cervical and Prostate. Cancer screenings at NP Healthcare Associates are open to any individual who is uninsured or underinsured. We provide all diagnostic procedures leading to the diagnosis of cancer free of charge to all. Breast Cancer Screenings Women who are 40 years and older are entitled to receive an annual clinical breast exam and mammogram. In many cases, a breast ultrasound may be indicated. In the event of an abnormal and suspicious result, a biopsy will be completed at no cost to our patients. Cervical Cancer Screenings Women who are 21 years and older are entitled to receive a Pap Smear every three years. This Pap smear can identify the presence of HPV and abnormal cervical cells that may lead to the development of cervical cancers. Prostate Cancer Men who are 55 years and older may receive screenings by examining the blood for Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) levels. An elevated PSA level may indicate the presence of prostate cancer. This test a Is an annual test provided for our patients.
